Xi Jinping pointed out that last month, he paid a state visit to the DPRK and, together with General Secretary Kim Jong Un, provided strategic guidance for consolidating and developing the traditional China-DPRK friendship and continuously endowing it with new connotations of the times. Everlasting friendship, shared destiny, and mutual assistance have always been the distinctive features of China-DPRK relations. The Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the People's Republic of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has laid an important political and legal foundation for consolidating the fraternal friendship forged by the blood of the two peoples. General Secretary Kim Jong Un and he agreed that taking the grand commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty as an opportunity, we should not forget the original aspiration and purpose of the older generations of leaders of the two parties and two countries, guide the two peoples to inherit and carry forward the traditional China-DPRK friendship, and enable the bilateral relations to continuously radiate vigorous vitality in the new historical period.

Xi Jinping emphasized that at present, the international situation is fraught with changes and chaos. China and the DPRK should maintain strategic resolve, enhance strategic confidence, accelerate the implementation of the consensus reached between him and General Secretary Kim Jong Un, ensure that the relations between the two parties and two countries keep pace with the times, and always move in the direction that helps consolidate their respective socialist causes and promote their respective national modernization drives. We should steadily advance practical cooperation, continuously consolidate the public opinion foundation, make good use of the common red memories and red resources, let the young people of the two countries remember the historical achievements of the Chinese People's Volunteers, and pass on the great China-DPRK friendship from generation to generation. We should strengthen strategic coordination, firmly safeguard each other's sovereignty, security and development interests, and create a favorable external environment for the two countries to follow the socialist path that suits their own national conditions.

Pak Thae Song first conveyed the cordial greetings of General Secretary Kim Jong Un to General Secretary Xi Jinping, saying that on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the DPRK and China, General Secretary Kim Jong Un wishes General Secretary Xi Jinping continuous new achievements in leading the noble cause of the CPC and the Chinese people.

Pak Thae Song expressed warm congratulations on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and on the great development achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping. General Secretary Xi Jinping chose the DPRK for his first overseas visit this year, and the historic meeting between the top leaders of the two parties and two countries has set a new milestone in bilateral relations and further consolidated the public opinion foundation for DPRK-China friendship. The Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the DPRK and China provides a strong legal guarantee for promoting the development of bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. In line with the spirit of the Treaty, the DPRK and China have helped each other, jointly promoted the development of the socialist cause, and worked together to safeguard regional and world peace. The grand commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty by the two countries once again demonstrates that the DPRK-China friendship has stood the test of international changes and is of high strategic significance. General Secretary Kim Jong Un has required that the DPRK-China relations be developed into the most powerful strategic relations. The DPRK side will firmly implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, firmly support China in safeguarding its core interests on issues such as Taiwan, and make every effort to push DPRK-China unity, friendship and the socialist cause to a new and higher level.
