Recently, Ambassador He Wei led all staff and their family members of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam to the former site of the embassy in Thái Nguyên Province, Vietnam, to carry out red education activities.
At the site, Ambassador He Wei affectionately reviewed the extraordinary years when the people of China and Vietnam fought side by side. He stated that as a new generation of Chinese diplomats in Vietnam, we must always stay true to our original aspiration, keep our mission firmly in mind, carry forward the great cause initiated by the older generation of leaders of China and Vietnam, implement the strategic direction set by the top leaders of the two parties, and contribute to the high-quality building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future through solid work and responsibility. Young diplomats of the embassy shared their experiences in combination with their work, saying that they will fulfill their original aspiration and mission and promote the steady and long-term development of China-Vietnam relations. On the same day, Ambassador He Wei and his entourage also went to the Lăng Sơn Martyrs' Cemetery in Thái Nguyên Province to pay tribute to the Chinese martyrs who sacrificed their lives in aiding Vietnam and resisting U.S. aggression and are laid to rest there.
In the 1950s, the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam was established in Thái Nguyên Province, located in the mountainous area of northern Vietnam. Luo Guibo, the first Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, presented his credentials to President Ho Chi Minh, the leader of the Vietnamese revolution, here.
