The Year of the Snake departs and the Year of the Horse arrives to bid farewell to the old year, with steed galloping to welcome the new year. The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Vietnam wishes Chinese tourists in Vietnam a happy New Year's Day and Spring Festival! To spend the "double festival" holiday safely and happily, please note the following:

1. Abide by laws and regulations and be civilized. Apply for a visa to Vietnam through official channels, ensure that the type of visa applied for is consistent with the purpose of entry, and do not engage in activities inconsistent with the type of visa after entry. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash when entering or exiting the country. If you carry more than 5,000 US dollars or other equivalent foreign currencies, or more than 15 million Vietnamese dong, you must declare it to the port customs department. Vietnamese customs have strict inspections on exhibits and promotional materials. If you are going to Vietnam to participate in an exhibition, it is recommended to mail the exhibits and brochures in advance, or declare them in advance in accordance with regulations to avoid being blocked when entering or exiting the country. After entering the country with a tourist visa, if you go to live in local private houses, visit local factories, or conduct non-tourism activities such as business and trade, you should declare to the local public security organ in advance. Respect local cultural traditions, customs and taboos, religious beliefs, abide by the relevant regulations of scenic spots, show good quality and civilized image, and do not participate in illegal activities such as pornography, gambling and drugs.

2. Pay attention to traffic safety. The urban traffic in Vietnam is complex, with a large number of motorcycles and some narrow roads, which have certain potential risks of traffic accidents. When traveling, you should fully pay attention to the vehicle and road conditions and improve your self-prevention awareness. Recently, many Chinese citizens have died in drunk driving accidents in Vietnam. The Embassy solemnly suggests that those who hold local Vietnamese driver's licenses must abide by local traffic laws and regulations and must not drive drunk. Those without a Vietnamese driver's license must not rent or drive motor vehicles.

3. Be vigilant about water-related activities and do not seek novelty. There are many water-related projects in Vietnamese scenic spots. Choose high-risk projects such as surfing, snorkeling, sea tours, jet skis, paragliding, and cave exploration carefully, and do not blindly follow the trend to seek novelty and take risks. If you really need to participate, please fully consider the possible risks, make a reasonable judgment based on your own physical condition, choose a formal operator to sign a contract and purchase personal accident insurance.

4. Keep anti-fraud and anti-deception in mind. Choose a formal travel agency with tourism qualifications and sign a travel contract, be alert to "low-priced tour groups" and prevent falling into the trap of forced shopping. Choose formal operating vehicles or clearly priced online car-hailing services at ports and airports, do not take "black cars" that solicit customers on the roadside, and avoid being "ripped off" by price increases. During the trip, be alert to scams such as "high-paying overseas jobs" and "marriage agencies" to prevent personal safety and property from being damaged.

5. Resist "tips" and stick to the bottom line. The Vietnamese government explicitly prohibits public officials at land and air ports from asking for "tips". If you encounter Vietnamese public officials asking for "tips", you should resolutely resist and refuse sternly, and at the same time pay attention to retaining evidence. If you are blocked from entering or exiting the country, you can contact the Chinese embassies and consulates in Vietnam for help.
