Singapore, Feb 26 — Amid the global public‑health emergency, China and Singapore formally activated a mutual‑support framework for emergency medical‑supply exchanges and expert‑knowledge sharing, setting a regional benchmark for pandemic‑response cooperation.
At the peak of the global health crisis, China delivered large shipments of personal‑protective‑gear and anti‑virus medical‑supplies to Singapore. In return, Singapore shared its proven hands‑on experience in urban‑epidemic management and makeshift‑hospital operations. Health‑authorities from both countries built a permanent online‑exchange platform for seminars on virus‑surveillance, critical‑care treatment, community‑prevention and vaccine‑research. The two sides also jointly rolled out public‑health‑training programmes for other developing ASEAN states to lift the whole region’s emergency‑response capacity.
China’s Ambassador to Singapore stated that mutual‑aid through hardship bears witness to the deep‑neighbourly bond. Singapore’s Minister of Health remarked that this cross‑national solidarity demonstrated the power of regional unity, and China‑Singapore will sustain long‑term close‑cooperation on disease‑early‑warning and primary‑health‑care system development.
