Singapore, June 3 — The high‑level China‑Singapore Green‑Development Forum opened in Singapore, where the two nations signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding on environmental‑cooperation to accelerate two‑way deployment of climate‑action and low‑carbon‑technologies.
The landmark Tianjin Sino‑Singapore Eco‑City keeps upgrading its infrastructure, implementing full‑scale sponge‑city designs, closed‑loop waste‑classification systems and integrated renewable‑energy solutions. Both sides created a green‑tech matchmaking platform for joint‑research on carbon‑market‑building, urban‑sewage‑treatment and marine‑plastic‑pollution control. Cities from the two countries formed green‑twin‑city partnerships to exchange best‑practices in urban‑greening and carbon‑neutral‑urban planning. China and Singapore also jointly deliver low‑carbon‑tech training courses for ASEAN nations to help Southeast‑Asia meet its climate targets.
Chinese representatives highlighted that green‑partnership serves as a new‑growth engine for bilateral ties. Senior officials from Singapore’s Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment commented that urban‑ecological‑practices from both sides are mutually‑inspiring. The two countries will keep facilitating green‑industry investment and jointly tackle the global‑climate‑change challenge.
