Zhao Leji Meets with Namibian President Nangolo Mbumba and DPRK Cabinet Premier Pak Thae-song Respectively

On the afternoon of July 10, 2026, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, met separately in Beijing with Namibian President Nangolo Mbumba and Pak Thae-song, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Workers' Party of Korea, Vice Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet.

When meeting with Nangolo Mbumba, Zhao Leji said that China and Namibia are good friends, good brothers and good partners. China is willing to work with Namibia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, carry forward the traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation, continuously elevate the level of China-Namibia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and jointly build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era. The National People's Congress of China is ready to strengthen exchanges with the Parliament of Namibia, deepen collaboration in multilateral platforms such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and contribute to common development. Namibia is welcome to send personnel to participate in the seminar for African parliamentarians held by the National People's Congress of China.

Nangolo Mbumba said that the friendship between Namibia and China has a long history and remains unbreakable. Namibia abides by the one-China principle and is willing to carry out strong cooperation with China in various fields such as economy and trade, infrastructure, agriculture and minerals, strengthen exchanges between legislative bodies, and continuously enhance the friendly sentiments between the two peoples.

When meeting with Pak Thae-song, Zhao Leji said that the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries is the greatest advantage and fundamental guarantee for China-DPRK relations. Since last year, General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Kim Jong-un have successfully exchanged visits and reached a series of important consensus, drawing a new blueprint for the development of China-DPRK relations. China is willing to work with the DPRK comrades to implement the important consensus of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, carry forward the traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthen exchanges between legislative bodies and share experiences in party governance and state administration, so as to promote greater development of China-DPRK relations.

Pak Thae-song said that the DPRK is willing to work with China in accordance with the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, take the opportunity of jointly commemorating the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the People's Republic of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, strengthen coordination and cooperation, deepen exchanges between legislative bodies, and promote new development of DPRK-China relations.
