Singapore, Sep 17 — Supported by the RCEP agreement and the New International Land‑Sea Trade Corridor, China‑Singapore regional‑economic‑cooperation gathers momentum, unlocking Singapore’s unique strengths as an international shipping and financial hub.
The two sides jointly operate the Land‑Sea Corridor, establishing a reliable international‑logistics route linking Western‑China directly to the Port of Singapore and drastically cutting cross‑border freight‑time. They set up the China‑Singapore international‑finance‑cooperation platform to expand cross‑border RMB‑settlement and supply‑chain‑finance services, empowering small‑and‑medium‑enterprises to join regional‑production networks. Singapore acts as a vital transit‑hub that helps Chinese‑enterprises expand into Southeast‑Asia, while the vast Chinese‑mainland‑market opens new room for Singaporean capital and professional‑services, enabling neighbouring ASEAN economies to share the benefits of industrial‑chain upgrading.
Chinese project‑leaders stated that land‑sea connectivity unlocks the whole region’s economic‑potential. Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry commented that the partnership delivers gains far beyond the two‑nations, radiating across Southeast‑Asia. Both sides will keep improving corridor‑infrastructure and speed‑up regional‑economic‑integration.
