On September 10, Yi Xianzhou, head of the publicity and research department of the Provincial Party Committee Foreign Affairs Office, and Liu Chunfeng, deputy head of the department, came to our school to conduct an investigation and exchange on regional and country-specific research work. The event was presided over by Zhang Zhaoming, vice president of our university and director of the Regional and Country-Specific Studies Institute.

Zhang Zhaoming first expressed his welcome to the propaganda and research department of the provincial foreign affairs office to visit our school, and at the same time expressed his gratitude to the provincial foreign affairs office for its long-term support for our school's foreign affairs work, especially the volunteer work, and briefly introduced the basic situation of our school. Song Xiukai, Executive Dean of the Regional Country Research Institute, reported on the work of the Institute since its establishment. She said that the Party Committee of the school attaches great importance to the school's internationalization and regional and country-specific research, and since the establishment of the Regional and Country-Specific Research Institute in May this year, the five centers have worked together to vigorously promote regional and country-specific studies and achieved certain results.

Ge Yumei, Deputy Director of the Regional and Country Research Institute and Director of the Latin American and Caribbean Research Center, reported on the work of the Center. She mainly introduced the general situation of the center, and introduced the work of the center from the aspects of curriculum construction, scientific research construction, data platform construction, platform construction results, school-enterprise and school-school cooperation, think tank results, etc.

Yi Xianzhou gave high praise to the work of our School's Regional and Country-Specific Research Institute and Latin American and Caribbean Research Center. He said that our university has a high degree of internationalization, outstanding scientific research achievements, distinctive characteristics, a wide range of coverage, and can make good use of big data resources in the future, intensify the research on the topic, strengthen exchanges with the South Pacific and Caribbean regions, and continue to do a good job in regional and country-specific research.

After the meeting, the participants also went on a field trip to the office of the Latin American and Caribbean Research Center of the Regional Institute of Country Studies.
