At 10:00 a.m. on September 22, the Chinese naval vessel Polang, which is on a distant-sea internship and visit mission, arrived at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta, Indonesia, and began a 3-day friendly visit to Indonesia. The Chinese Embassy in Indonesia and the Indonesian Navy held a warm welcome ceremony at the dock for the arrival of the Polang. Nearly 150 people attended the ceremony, including Zhou Kan, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, Xu Sheng, Defense Attaché and Senior Colonel, and other embassy leaders and staff, as well as leaders and officer-soldier representatives from the Indonesian Navy's Third Base and Military Sealift Command.
During the visit to Indonesia, the commander of our mission will pay a courtesy call to the Indonesian Navy Headquarters. The vessel will hold ship open days and a deck reception. Representative officers and soldiers of the visiting mission will visit the military facilities of the Indonesian Navy Base, conduct座谈交流 (discussions and exchanges), professional seminars, joint training, and friendly sports matches with representatives of Indonesian naval officers, soldiers and cadets, and go to local Confucius Institutes and Chinese-funded institutions to carry out cultural exchanges, visits and learning activities.
The Polang, with hull number "86", is the first sailing training ship of the Chinese Navy. This is the first time that the Polang has visited Indonesia.
