On June 27, Qilu Normal University and the Yuncheng County Education and Sports Bureau jointly held the launch ceremony for the Integrated School-Based Professional Development Program for Under-Resourced County Schools Along the Yellow River Region. Attendees included Song Xiukui, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages; Xie Shijin, Associate Dean of the School of Foreign Languages; Liang Chengfeng, Professor at the School of Foreign Languages and a training expert of the Ministry of Education’s National Teacher Training Program; Fan Yong, a distinguished principal under the Ministry of Education’s National Leading Principals Program and Party Secretary and Principal of Yixuan Primary School affiliated with the Jinan Licheng No. 2 Secondary School Education Group; Wang Tao, Party Secretary and Director of the Yuncheng County Education and Sports Bureau; as well as principals and vice principals from schools across the county.
In her address, Song Xiukui stated that the University would take this project as an important opportunity to strengthen and expand collaborative platforms. Working closely with Yuncheng County, the University will explore new models for integrated school-based professional development, adhere to problem-oriented and practice-oriented approaches, implement targeted measures, and continuously explore new ideas, mechanisms, and initiatives. Through consolidating strengths, addressing weaknesses, and enhancing vitality, both sides aim to move forward together, seize development opportunities, and achieve mutually beneficial cooperation. The goal is to build an experimental and demonstration zone for reform in teacher education research, and to accelerate the overall improvement of teacher quality and teaching standards across Yuncheng County.
Wang Tao noted that Yuncheng County will further deepen collaboration with the University to explore long-term mechanisms for integrated school-based professional development, advance teaching reform, and improve incentive and evaluation systems, thereby providing stronger platforms and clearer pathways for teachers’ professional growth.
Following this, Liang Chengfeng provided an in-depth interpretation of the project’s significance, implementation pathways, and expected outcomes.
Finally, Liu Xiaojun, Principal of Suge Middle School, spoke on behalf of the participating project schools, expressing strong confidence and determination to complete the project to a high standard.
The Integrated School-Based Professional Development Program for Under-Resourced County Schools Along the Yellow River Region is scheduled to run for two years and aims to unleash the vitality of the teaching workforce through reform and innovation, thereby stimulating momentum for high-quality educational development.
