On June 16, the Foreign Languages College organized all its students to attend a special political theory study session themed Study Strategies for Future Industries, March Toward Building a Stronger Country with Foreign Language Expertise. Each League branch carried out special learning under the "First Agenda Item" mechanism. Rooted in the distinctive strengths of foreign language majors, the college advanced in-depth ideological and political education, guiding young students to consolidate their theoretical foundation, clarify their growth goals, and shoulder their missions of the times.
At this political study session, participants collectively studied an important article by General Secretary Xi Jinping, Proactively Planning and Developing Future Industries, published in Qiushi Journal. Combining their academic backgrounds, students shared their insights. They noted that rapid technological iteration in future industries and intensifying international competition demand interdisciplinary foreign language talents to support China’s deepened international industrial cooperation and joint formulation of industrial rules. Moving forward, they will balance linguistic proficiency with scientific and technological vision, proactively track cutting-edge industrial trends, break cognitive barriers between language studies and tech industries, and strive to grow into interdisciplinary young talents proficient in foreign languages, industries and science and technology. They will leverage their professional expertise to serve the international development of China’s future industries.
All League branches simultaneously organized "First Agenda Item" learning by watching the CCTV special documentary March Toward New Goals: Proactively Planning Future Industries. All students studied the industrial arrangements outlined in the 15th Five-Year Plan, gaining a profound understanding of the vital role of developing future industries in fostering new quality productive forces and securing a leading position in science and technology. They mastered five major development pathways and key industrial sectors. League members stated that they will hone their foreign language capabilities, delve into scientific foreign languages, industrial translation and cross-cultural communication, actively participate in international exchange practices, and strive to be young messengers for the external communication of frontier industries.
Closely aligned with national industrial development strategies and integrated with the training of foreign language talents, this session enabled theoretical learning to connect closely with majors and nurture original aspirations. Going forward, the Foreign Languages College will improve a long-term learning system, enrich educational connotations through bilingual research tours, foreign-related publicity campaigns, foreign language volunteer services and other activities, and embed theoretical learning into classroom teaching and daily life. All young students are called upon to integrate knowledge with action and work diligently, lay a solid foundation with professional competence, illuminate their path forward with lofty ideals, and dedicate their youth to the college’s development, industrial upgrading, building a powerful country through science and technology, and advancing Chinese modernization, contributing their unique strengths as foreign language learners!
