To steadily advance the training program of the Young Marxists Training Project in our school, deepen Party history education for its participants, and guide young backbones to review the CPC’s century-long struggle and clarify the missions they shoulder in the new era, the School of Foreign Languages convened a special study session themed on Party history and youth dedication on June 11. League branch secretaries, organization committee members and publicity committee members of all classes attended the event, which was presided over by Gao Yuqian.

At the opening of the session, starting with the century-long development of the Communist Party of China, Gao Yuqian played a video reviewing the historical plight of modern China as a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society, and pointed out that realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has been the unwavering pursuit of Chinese people since modern times. Afterwards, the session systematically sorted out the spread of Marxism in China, elaborated on the ideological enlightenment brought by the October Revolution to progressive Chinese youth, and explained how the integration of Marxism and labor movements after the May Fourth Movement laid a solid foundation for the founding of the Communist Party of China.

Meanwhile, the session introduced that young people constituted the majority of delegates to the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, proving that the century-long Party history is a chronicle of struggle in which the Party guides, relies on and fosters young generations. In the final part, Gao Yuqian thoroughly interpreted the fundamental requirements for young people in the new era: to aspire for lofty ideals, cultivate noble morality, pursue remarkable achievements and shoulder great responsibilities. Combined with the distinctive features of foreign language majors, she encouraged participants of the Young Marxists Training Project to consolidate their professional foundation, uphold firm political stances, and take the initiative to undertake the mission of communicating fine traditional Chinese culture to the outside world and telling China’s stories well.

This special study session not only consolidated participants’ ideological foundation and improved their political caliber, but also clarified their missions and directions ahead in light of their academic strengths. Moving forward, the School of Foreign Languages will continue to deepen the educational work of the Young Marxists Training Project. Relying on its strengths in foreign-related majors, the school will build diverse practical platforms, guiding students to take language as a bridge and culture as a medium, embrace patriotism and a global vision, and strive to be youthful pioneers who tell China’s stories and serve national development.
