To help undergraduate students of the Class of 2027 clarify their postgraduate entrance examination goals, develop scientific preparation plans, and alleviate exam-related anxiety, as well as to further cultivate a strong academic atmosphere within the School and support students in steadily advancing on their postgraduate study paths, the School of Foreign Languages held a postgraduate entrance examination planning guidance session on April 9. The session was delivered by Niu Luo, Secretary of the School Youth League Committee, with all undergraduate students of the Class of 2027 in attendance.

During the session, Niu Luo combined the disciplinary characteristics of foreign language majors with the overall landscape of postgraduate entrance examinations to provide a comprehensive and detailed explanation covering key aspects such as university selection, preparation planning, mindset adjustment, and access to resources. With regard to postgraduate study options for foreign language majors, she offered an in-depth analysis of the differences between academic and professional master’s programs, employment prospects of popular majors, admissions policies of various universities, and admission-to-application ratios. Students were guided to make rational choices of target institutions and majors based on their academic foundations, career plans, and personal interests, avoiding blind or trend-driven applications.

In terms of preparation planning, drawing on years of experience in student affairs and postgraduate guidance, Niu Luo proposed a phased preparation framework, clearly outlining the learning priorities, time allocation strategies, and efficiency-enhancing methods for each stage—from foundational consolidation and intensive improvement to final sprint preparation. In particular, she provided targeted advice on key challenges in both major-specific and public subject preparation for foreign language majors. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy mindset throughout the long preparation process, encouraging students to remain self-disciplined, confident, and resilient, and to manage stress effectively with a positive and optimistic attitude.

In addition, Niu Luo engaged in interactive exchanges with students, patiently answering questions related to exam registration, study materials, and interview preparation. This interaction helped students clarify their preparation strategies and dispel uncertainties. Students listened attentively and took detailed notes, expressing that the session was informative and highly practical, enabling them to gain a clearer understanding of postgraduate entrance examinations and define their subsequent study and preparation directions.

The successful organization of this planning session represents an important initiative by the School of Foreign Languages to focus on students’ growth and development and to provide targeted support for further education. It not only offered a platform for information exchange and academic guidance for students of the Class of 2027, but also strengthened their confidence and clarified their preparation pathways. In the future, the School will continue to monitor students’ postgraduate study needs, improve its support system, and carry out diversified guidance and service activities, accompanying students throughout their postgraduate pursuit and helping more of them realize their academic aspirations, thereby steadily enhancing the quality of talent cultivation within the School.
