To help college students seize opportunities in cross-border e-commerce, the School of Foreign Languages hosted the lecture titled “Cross-Border Launch: Navigating Shandong’s Cross-Border E-Commerce Ecosystem and Building Student Competency” on May 8 in Room A207, Building No. 2. Delivered by Mr. Che Yongkang, the lecture was attended by Business English (Class of 2023) and Cross-Border E-Commerce (Class of 2024) students. Mr. Che provided an in-depth analysis of Shandong’s policy support, industrial cluster distribution, and key highlights of import and export performance, while offering forward-looking insights into digital transformation and emerging market expansion. He underscored six core competencies essential for industry readiness: language proficiency (including minor languages), hands-on platform operation, knowledge of international trade regulations, supply chain management, data analytics, and cross-cultural communication. The interactive Q&A segment featured practical, experience-based answers, generating enthusiastic engagement. The lecture significantly deepened students’ industry awareness, strengthened applied skills, ignited passion for employment and entrepreneurship, and laid a solid foundation for their professional development.
