To thoroughly study and implement General‑Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on establishing and practicing a correct view of performance, fully carry out the work arrangements issued by the University Party Committee, and further advance the study‑and‑education campaign, the School of Foreign Languages held a two‑phase launching meeting on March 12. The meeting aimed to unify thinking, build consensus and assign work tasks, guiding the high‑quality development of the school with a sound view of performance. Yu Jiang, Secretary of the School Party Committee, presided over the meeting.

In the first stage, an expanded Party Committee meeting was held for special mobilization and work deployment. Members of the school’s Party and administrative leadership, secretaries of all Party branches, and all administrative staff attended the meeting. Participants collectively studied the relevant documents issued by the University Party Committee on carrying out study and education concerning a correct view of performance. The meeting thoroughly elaborated the great significance, objectives, requirements and key tasks of the campaign.

The meeting emphasized that the school’s leading group and Party cadres should raise their political standing and fully understand the core connotations of “for whom achievements are made, what kind of achievements should be pursued, and how achievements can be realized”. All participants must resolutely eliminate formalism and bureaucratism, adhere to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and integrate a correct view of performance into the whole process of Party building, discipline development, talent cultivation, teaching and research, as well as administrative services. The meeting clarified the school’s implementation plan, work arrangements and responsibility division for the study and education. It required all departments to consolidate primary responsibilities, strengthen exemplary leadership, and comprehensively promote theoretical study, problem investigation, rectification and institutional improvement, so as to ensure the high-standard and high-quality advancement of the campaign.

In the second stage, a launching assembly for all Party member teachers was held to achieve full coverage of the study and education work. At the meeting, Yu Jiang delivered a mobilization speech and made comprehensive arrangements for the study and education across the school. The meeting required that all Party members and cadres should base themselves on the characteristics of foreign language disciplines and the fundamental duty of education. They shall integrate the correct view of performance into classroom teaching, scientific research and innovation, student guidance, teachers’ ethics construction and all other work. It is essential to uphold the original aspiration of education, devote themselves wholeheartedly to teaching and educating people, continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation, and serve students’ growth and development with sincerity and dedication.

The meeting pointed out that all Party members and cadres should integrate learning with practice and unify knowledge and action. They shall transform the achievements of study and education into strong motivation for undertaking duties and making achievements. Focusing on the key and difficult issues in the school’s development, all staff should break through development bottlenecks, deliver practical services for teachers and students, and promote the connotative development of the school through solid work and tangible results. All Party branches should give full play to their role as battle fortresses, innovate learning methods and enrich learning carriers, so as to ensure full coverage, no blind spots and practical results in the study and education work.

After the meeting, the five faculty Party branches and two student Party branches respectively held Party member meetings to formulate specific arrangements for the follow-up study and education

The convening of the launching meeting marks the full launch of the study and education campaign on establishing and practicing a correct view of performance in the School of Foreign Languages. Taking this campaign as an opportunity, the school will continuously strengthen ideological guidance, refine work style and improve performance efficiency. It will effectively translate learning outcomes into practical achievements in upgrading Party building quality, improving teaching efficiency, promoting discipline development and optimizing talent cultivation, contributing the strength of foreign language education to the high-quality development of the university.
