On March 17, the Theoretical‑Learning Central Group of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Languages held its third collective‑learning session for 2026 in the school conference room. All members of the Theoretical‑Learning Central Group attended the meeting. Song Xiukui, Dean of the School, together with counselors Liu Xinxin, Wu Hao and Gao Chenxuan, participated as non‑voting attendees. Yu Jiang, Secretary of the School Party Committee, presided over the session.

At the meeting, participants collectively studied General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on developing and practicing a correct view of performance, and deeply grasped the core principle that “delivering benefits to the people constitutes the greatest achievement”. They focused on reading Excerpts from Xi Jinping’s Expositions on Developing and Practicing a Correct View of Performance, which states that the outlook on performance‑related achievements is a fundamental issue. The group also went through Volume One of Selected Works of Xi Jinping (where the article “Only Hard‑Work Can Make Dreams Come True” is included) and Volume Two (featuring “Constantly Enhance People’s Sense of Happiness and Security”). In addition, they studied Comrade Lin Wu’s speech delivered at the provincial‑level work conference on encouraging dedicated efforts, shouldering responsibilities and ensuring a promising start to the 15th Five‑Year‑Plan period. Chi Yingjuan and Xie Shijin shared their insights by combining the learning content with their daily work.

The meeting pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important statements on fostering and applying a correct view of performance feature profound vision and rich connotations. They fundamentally answer three key questions: for whom achievements should be made, what kind of achievements should be pursued, and how to deliver such achievements. The expositions serve as a major test of Party‑member leading cadres’ Party‑spirit cultivation, purpose‑oriented awareness and development philosophy, and chart the course for all work of the school. All Party‑member leaders of the school must fully recognize the significance of adopting a proper performance‑oriented mindset, always bear in mind the core tenet that benefiting people is the greatest accomplishment, uphold the spiritual pursuit and historical commitment of “refusing to claim credit for my contributions yet being ready to take on responsibilities”, and properly balance tangible short‑term results and long‑term underlying‑foundation‑building work. Rooted in the fundamental mission of higher‑education institutions, they must take fostering virtue through education as the fundamental task, prioritize improving talent‑training quality, take meeting faculty‑student demands as the starting point and goal of all work, firmly oppose formalism and bureaucratism, and reject flashy vanity‑driven image‑building and performance‑oriented projects. They shall boost the school‑level development with a realistic and pragmatic work style.

The meeting stressed that the school should take this study session as an opportunity to further delve into General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks on the correct view of performance, integrate the mindset into daily thinking and concrete practices, and put faculty and students at the top priority. It shall precisely respond to their demands in teaching, scientific research, personal growth and daily services, and address practical difficulties with tangible initiatives. The school should strengthen the willingness to take on duties, align the practice of a correct performance outlook with core tasks including discipline‑building, talent cultivation and faculty‑team development. With the commitment, courage and competence to assume responsibilities, school staff shall tackle bottlenecks and challenges in work, prioritize practical outcomes and long‑term interests, and push forward all initiatives step‑by‑step. Leading officials, as the “key minority”, need to set an exemplary benchmark by upholding the right performance‑view and promoting a down‑to‑earth, enterprising work ethos. A campus atmosphere valuing solid results, practical efficiency and bold responsibility‑taking will be fostered throughout the school. Achievements from implementing the correct view of performance will be translated into driving forces for the high‑quality development of the School of Foreign Languages, contributing to the overall advancement of Qilu Normal University。
