On May 29, the Party Committee Theoretical Learning Group of the School of Foreign Languages held its 7th collective study session of 2026 in the school conference room. All members of the Theoretical Learning Group attended the session. Song Xiukui, Dean of the School, Zou Deping, Vice Dean, Wang Yujin, a faculty Party member representative, as well as counselors Wu Hao and Gao Chenxuan were present as non-voting participants. Yu Jiang, Party Secretary of the School, presided over the meeting.

During the session, participants collectively studied four works by Xi Jinping: On the Party’s Publicity and Ideological Work, Excerpts from Xi Jinping’s Discourses on Building Socialist Spiritual Civilization, Excerpts from Xi Jinping’s Discourses on Socialist Cultural Development, and Excerpts from Xi Jinping’s Discourses on Building a Cyber Power. They carried out focused study on two important speeches: Speech at the Symposium on Cultural Inheritance and Development and Deepen Research on the History of Chinese Civilization to Boost Historical Awareness and Strengthen Cultural Confidence. The group also studied the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important address delivered at the 17th collective study session of the 20th Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. Chen Feng and Niu Luo shared their learning insights based on the study materials and their practical work.

The meeting pointed out that Xi Jinping Thought on Culture is a theoretical summary of the CPC’s experience in cultural development in the new era, a major achievement in innovating Marxist cultural theories, and serves as the overarching guideline, fundamental basis and general direction for publicity, ideological and cultural work in the new era. Ideological work constitutes an extremely vital undertaking of the Party, bearing on the future of the Party, long-term stability of the country, and the cohesion and centripetal force of the nation. Ideological and political work is the Party’s fine tradition, distinctive feature and prominent political strength, acting as the lifeline of all work. As a fundamental norm, the Regulations on the Ideological and Political Work of the Communist Party of China is of great significance for upholding and strengthening the Party’s overall leadership and elevating the institutionalized and standardized development of ideological and political work. All faculty and students of the school must thoroughly grasp its core essence and practical requirements, and align their thinking and actions with the CPC Central Committee’s decisions and arrangements concerning publicity, ideology and ideological-political work.

The meeting emphasized that theoretical armament shall be continuously reinforced. Studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Culture shall be treated as a key political task, integrated and advanced alongside learning General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourses on ideology and ideological-political work, so as to steadily enhance political judgment, political comprehension and political execution capacity. The school must resolutely shoulder political responsibilities, firmly hold the leadership, management and discourse power over ideological work, strictly enforce the ideological work accountability system, safeguard the main front of online ideology, and continuously strengthen the cohesion and guiding power of socialist ideology. We must uphold the principle of consolidating fundamentals while breaking new ground. Guided by the Regulations on the Ideological and Political Work of the Communist Party of China, we shall closely integrate publicity, ideological and ideological-political work with fostering virtue through education, discipline development, talent training and cultural education, comprehensively upgrade work capacity and standards, and provide solid ideological guarantee, powerful spiritual impetus and robust cultural support for the school’s high-quality development.
