The School of Foreign Languages held the 2025 Commencement Ceremony on June 20, 2025, at the No. 1 Lecture Hall of the Zhangqiu Campus. The event was attended by members of the School’s leadership team, heads of teaching and research sections, class advisors of the graduating classes, all counselors, all 2025 graduates, and student representatives from other grades. Xie Shijin, Vice Dean of the School presided over the ceremony.

The ceremony opened with the emotionally resonant song “Secret Base” and a commemorative video reviewing the graduates’ four-year journey of growth.

Song Xiukui, Dean of the School, extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates for successfully completing their academic programs. She underscored the School’s distinctive “Foreign Language +” interdisciplinary advantage: English Education emphasizing “Foreign Language + Education”, Business English strengthening “Foreign Language + Business”, and Translation focusing on “Foreign Language + Language Services”. She encouraged graduates to cultivate dual competencies—solid language proficiency and practical application skills—integrate knowledge with practice, and effectively tell China’s stories to the world. 

Yu Jiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, delivered an inspiring address, urging young graduates to bravely shoulder the historic mission of their times and integrate their personal aspirations into the great cause of national rejuvenation.

Wang Jie, the faculty representative, and Zhang Kai and Yang Zichen, the graduate representatives, delivered heartfelt speeches. Chen Feng, Vice Dean of the School, announced the official decision on degree conferral, turned the tassel and conferred degrees for graduates on site, and presented the customized mascot “Wai Xiaoyu” to graduates. The ceremony concluded triumphantly amid enthusiastic applause.
