On the afternoon of June 12, 2026, the Business English Teaching and Research Office held a teaching and research activity themed "Integration of Business English Teaching with Ideological and Political Education" in Room B235 of Building 2, with Teacher Chang Gaoge giving a special presentation and case demonstration.
Teacher Chang pointed out that ideological and political education in courses should be like "salt dissolved in water," naturally integrating into Business English teaching through four paths: themes, cases, tasks, and evaluation, with a focus on values such as integrity, rule of law, and social responsibility. Using the "Cross-Cultural Negotiation" unit as an example, she showed how to embed ideological and political elements into teaching objectives, case discussions, and after-class tasks: starting with a video about disputes in overseas projects of Chinese enterprises to raise compliance awareness, organizing students to discuss the positions and strategies of Chinese companies in international negotiations, and guiding them to form values of "standing firm on China's position, following international rules, and achieving win-win cooperation."
Teachers at the meeting exchanged ideas on whether integrating ideological and political education affects class hours and how to avoid awkward preaching. Teacher Chang suggested achieving organic integration through restructuring teaching content, designing implicit tasks, and providing positive feedback. The director of the teaching and research office concluded that the sharing session combined theoretical depth with practical value. Going forward, a curriculum ideological and political teaching team will be established, a case library will be developed, and teaching competitions will be organized to help implement research outcomes in the classroom.
