To create a stronger atmosphere for English communication and build an immersive language practice platform, the School of Foreign Languages helps students sharpen exam skills and consolidate their English proficiency. On May 29, the "Study With You" Tutoring Team held the 16th offline Shimmer English Corner in Room A113, Teaching Building No.2.
Focusing on experience sharing for CET-4 and CET-6, this event was planned by Group 11 and Group 12 of the tutoring team and drew English lovers from all departments.
At the beginning, Quan Bing outlined the event arrangement and offered overall guidance for the CET exams. She explained the exam structure and pointed out typical mistakes students tend to make during preparation.
Next, Fang Yuanyuan gave targeted coaching on listening and reading. Based on her own exam experience, she summarized practical methods to raise scores. She analyzed real exam questions, solved difficult problems in listening study, and recommended several excellent English learning applications for daily practice.
After that, Li Chengzhuo talked about skills for writing and translation. These two sections are major difficulties for most learners, who often suffer from insufficient vocabulary, Chinglish, loose logic and simple sentence patterns. Finally, Su Han listed common traps that cause mark deductions and shared efficient revision plans for the final exam sprint.
Combining CET exam preparation with overall English ability improvement, this activity helped students clarify key learning goals, master score-boosting skills and tackle learning obstacles. The practical sharing allowed students to prepare efficiently for the proficiency tests and lay a solid academic foundation.
